I think this was our first gig. I look scared. I must have been about 22 and these guys were just plain out of my league. I was greener than Dallas’s shirt. Man this was a long time ago. Around 1990 I guess…
We would eventually tackle other instrumental stuff like Jeff Beck fusion and Robben Ford tunes, but to get going we relied heavily on Little Feat. Little Feat was a revelation to me. I’d never listened to them before I met these dudes. Never listened to Bill Payne, and had NO IDEA how to play his stuff. 
I’d never heard of Robben Ford. Never paid attention to Chuck Leavell. Had never touched a B-3. I had a lot to learn.
In our short time together I probably learned more from this group than I’d learned in all my playing time previous.

I remember seeing Paul play with some other people and told Ed and Ross that he had potential. I was right. This stuff was fun!!!
